The Corn Barn Wedding Photos, Cullompton – Bonnie and Sam

I’d been looking forward to photographing the wedding of Bonnie and Sam since I first met them as they were such lovely, fun and instantly likable people, I just knew their wedding was going to be fun, and it did not disappoint. They got married at St. Peter’s Church in Uplowman before heading on to The Corn Barn in Cullompton near Tiverton.

I started my day with Bonnie at her parents home where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family. When I arrived though a hilarious and slightly confusing moment was taking place, her aunts had arrived in secret dressed up as ‘bridesmaids’ as a joke as Bonnie had always said they were her honorary bridesmaids. That set the tone for me for the whole day, it was fun and laughter throughout. I nipped across to photograph the boys mid way through Bonnie’s preparations who were getting ready just down the road and then raced back to get the final stages of Bonnie.

Bonnie walked to Church with her Dad as it was just down the road which was lovely, I would imagine that’s far less nerve racking that sitting in a car and being driven :) The church service was lovely with lots of laughing scattered around, it flew by and before long they were walking down a confetti exit to their cute little Morris Minor convertible. When they arrived at The Corn Barn we pulled aside while the guests arrived and ran into one of the vineyards they have there to take a few photos before they made their entrance. We did a few more photos in the lane outside shortly after also but I knew I wanted to get back into that vineyard if the evening light was nice (which is was, yay!)

They then had some brilliant speeches in the beautifully decorated barn before the meal, all the flowers had been done by Bonnie’s aunt. In the best men’s speeches they were given two presents which to say they went down well would be an understatement. They were two signed photos, one from Jonny Wilkinson and the other was David Attenborough who I can only assume was Bonnie’s first love :) Towards the end of the meal the light was gorgeous outside so we did run across to that vineyard for some more photos. We then walked to the farm buildings next to this and the family who own The Corn Barn were there and their kids were playing on the tractor which they were lifting up and down and they were shouting ‘this is the best day ever!’ They then saw us and asked if Bonnie and Sam wanted a go on the tractor, ‘er… yes!’ So on they climbed and then they were having the best day ever!! It was so funny and very exciting for a photographer :D We did a few more around there before they made their way back to their guests for a while before they then cut (and tasted) their cake and had their first dance to I Will Wait by The Mumford and Sons, I remember this specifically because Bonnie and Sam have been together for 10 years and Bonnie shouted out ‘I bloody did wait!’ :) Anyway, I’ve said enough, on with the good part, the photos:
